Welcome to Forest Family Home! Our idyllic retreat is nestled in the heart of Överhogdal (Ytterhogdal) in Sweden.
Our small Bed&Breakfast offers various rental options including a guestroom, cozy stuga and camperspots. Our Bed&Breakfast is located in the breathtaking Jämtland province along the mainroad, the E45.
In the surrounding area there are endless possibilities to spend your time in nature. Our doorstep can be the startpoint of your scenic hike in the area. Furthermore there are great fishing and swimming possibilities nearby. In a short drive you can visit some landmarks including the waterfalls Fettjeåfallet and Sangsbacksfallet.
At Forest Family Home, hospitality is our hallmark. Indulge in delicious, homemade meals lovingly prepared for you. We extend a warm welcome not just to you but to your furry companions too—dogs are cherished guests here. Families are at the heart of our ethos, ensuring a delightful stay for your kids with an abundance of toys and a sprawling garden to explore.
Överhogdal and surroundings
It is referred to as Sweden’s longest village, although it has few inhabitants, the village stretches far along the E45. There is pristine nature with the River Hoan flowing through the municipality surrounded by mountains, nature reserves, meadows, lakes and beautiful forest environments just around the corner. The area has its charm in every season. In the summer you can swim, walk endlessly in the forest and enjoy nature. Both around the house and in the surrounding forests you can pick delicious wild berries everywhere, black, blue berries, currants and many more forest fruits. In winter there are several ski areas nearby, you can ice skate in Ytterhogdal and nature looks even more magical. Överhogdal is a true paradise for nature lovers and hikers. If you are looking for peace and nature to relax, this is the ideal place. Those who experience these forests and tranquillity often feel the need to come back. The clean air is really an experience in itself, perfect for recharging.In summer the sky is clear and the sun shines often. In winter the winter landscape is magical, especially after frost the snow shines like diamonds under a clear moon, stunning to see in real life.

In the summer there are various swimming possibilities in and around Överhogdal.
Hiking
Our Bed&Breakfast is the starting point of various hiking-routes. In the forest behind our house is a trail which leads to different lakes where you can fish, swim or relax.
Sightseeing
At a short drive there are multiple sightseeing points, like the Fnuschen Utsiktstorn (photo) which gives you a panoramic view of Härjedalen.
Wildlife
If you are lucky, and patient, enough you may be rewarded with the sight of a moose, deer, fox or other wildlife. In the winter you can see the footprints or various wild animals in our garden.
About us
We are Gavin and Bianca and live with our sons Enzio and Niyo alternately in beautiful Sweden and sunny Portugal. From the moment we drove into Sweden with the camper during our long journey, we fell in love with the forested and beautiful country.
We decided to buy a holiday home in Sweden, Forest Family Home, and we would like to share this wonderful place with others. We enjoy meeting new people, but also respect it if there is a need for privacy. You are always welcome to join for diner or (VR) gaming in the living room. Our 2 young children receive flexible education and like to play with other children. For that reason there are more than enough toys in and around the house.
We have always had a great interest in travel and recreational rentals and the opportunity is there in both countries. We do this with a lot of love and passion.
Our goal is to give ”guests” a great holiday and where better than in Scandinavia or Southern Europe.

☺Mysigt och familjärt! Mycket tillmötesgående och hjälpsamma värdar. Vi övernattade i ett stort rum med bekväm dubbelsäng och balkong med vacker utsikt. Allt är rent och fräscht. Många omtänksamma detaljer som extra kuddar, vattenflaska samt kaffe/tehörna på rummet och tuggben till hunden. Väldigt gott kaffe (från nymalda bönor) eller te erbjuds även i köket. Det går att beställa (vegetariska) måltider för en rimlig kostnad och vi beställde både frukost och middag. Allt var omsorgsfullt tillagat och välsmakande. Fina omgivningar som passar perfekt för utevistelse.

Die Hütte war sauber. Es lagen sogar ein paar Süßigkeiten, Kaffee und Tee bereit - kostenlos.
Sie übernehmen die Reinigung der Hütte, ohne Zusatzkosten.

☺Perfekt för övernattning på bår väg norrut. Väldigt trevlig, hjälpsam och välkomnande värdfamilj som också bor i huset. Jättebra med tillgång till det gemensamma fullt utrustade köket.
